LRWHSOI Students Give Back to Their Community
One of the focus areas for our Advisory Program is Service Learning, our young adults are learning to build a better society through volunteering their time and energy. Before Winter Break, Little Rock West High School of Innovation donated 160 pounds of food to the Arkansas Food Bank in order to help feed hungry families during the holidays. We are so proud of our kids and their generous spirit. LRWHSOI continued with our spirit of giving by volunteering at the Arkansas Food Bank during the month of March. The students worked hard sorting several thousand pounds of food into large bins that could then be and pack into smaller individual boxes for distribution. They learned about all the ways the Arkansas Food Bank serves our local community and were able to see how the food they raised could help a needy family. We are proud of our students and look forward to more opportunities to grow a school of givers.
