In addition to taking their normal high school classes, students will also take a pathway/academy course each year. Once students reach their senior year, they will participate in a capstone project or internship with one of our partnered businesses. This will allow students to receive industry certifications that will help them land jobs or be college ready once they leave high school. We also offer the same AP classes that are offered at other high schools around the district.  Hall STEAM Magnet offers students with interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school-wide enrichment experiences, project-based learning, real-world applied learning, career awareness, and other STEM specific activities.

The Academies at Hall STEAM Magnet High School focus on providing students a rigorous, 21st century education that will prepare them for college or career once they graduate. We are transforming teaching and learning here at Hall STEAM. We want to change how students learn by putting them in front of hands on projects that allow them to embed their academics into authentic projects and learning. Each of our academies will work with local business partners to implement this real world learning experience for students.

    Academy of Engineering

This academy is designed for those pursuing college or careers in the engineering or computer science area. Our engineering academy will focus on applying science, technology, engineering and math through a project based, hands on approach to solve complex, open ended problems in a real world context. Students will learn how to apply knowledge, skills, and habits of the mind to make the world a better place through innovation. Students will work on learning programming languages, coding robots, 3D printing and work with high tech engineering equipment. Hall STEAM Engineering Academy builds on the foundation to prepare students for a college experience in engineering related fields while emphasizing career readiness in software and hardware development. Students will also have the option of taking multiple AP classes that are offered here at Hall STEAM while taking their pathway course each year.

Course options within this pathway: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Engineering Design and Development, Computer Science Programming, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, Robotics, Mobile App Design, Game Design.

    Academy of Heath Sciences

Whether discovering new cancer treatments or teaching healthy lifestyle choices to their communities, today’s health science professionals are tackling big challenges to make the world a better place. Our health science academy is designed for those interested in a premed or nursing college degree or those looking for industry certifications in medical or dental assisting.

Our health science students are taking on these same real-world challenges – and they’re doing it before they even graduate from high school. Working with the same tools used by professionals in hospitals and labs, students engage in compelling, hands-on activities and work together to find solutions to problems. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any college or career path they take. Students will also have the option of taking multiple AP classes that are offered here at Hall STEAM while taking their pathway course each year.

Course options within this pathway: Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, Biomedical Innovation, Anatomy and Physiology, Foundations in Healthcare, Food and Consumer Science, Chemistry of Foods, Survey of Business, Medical Office Administration.
