Welcome to the Little Rock School District Student Registration web page. Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about registration, transfers in neighborhood attendance zones and enrollment documentation requirements.
The Student Registration Office SUMMER hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. beginning Monday, June 12 through Friday, July 28, 2017. We will resume our normal business hours on Monday, July 31 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The staff is available to assist you with registration, school information and assignments. The Student Registration Office is located at 501 Sherman Street in downtown Little Rock.
Registration for the current school year and upcoming year will continue at the Student Registration Office. All new students to the district, including incoming kindergarten and early childhood students, (four year old students), will be able to complete registration paperwork at the Student Registration throughout the school year until further notice. Early Childhood Open Enrollment (P3/P4) will be held at Geyer Springs Early Childhood Center, which is located at 5420 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, AR. To read more about the P3/P4 requirements, CLICK HERE.
Address changes will be accepted during this time. If your child will be attending the attendance zone school that corresponds with your current address, you don’t need to do anything — unless you are new to the district—your child will automatically roll up to the next grade level. Sixth and ninth graders will also automatically roll up to the next grade level at your attendance zone school.
If you move in the middle of the school year, students may remain at their assigned school for the remainder of the current school year with NO TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT. Students will be assigned to the neighborhood (attendance zone) school for the upcoming school year. If a student was alternately assigned, they will be AUTOMATICALLY BE ASSIGNED to the neighborhood (attendance zone) school for the upcoming school year.
NEW! Effective May 11, 2017: The deadline to turn in Forest Heights STEM applications will be May 31, 2017 for the 2017-18 school year.
NEW! The Transfer with No Transportation (TNT) application period will be held June 5-9, 2017, first-come, first served. Decisions will be based on seat availability. TNTs will be granted where seats are available. All applications must be time and date stamped at the LRSD Student Registration Office. THE TNT APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED.
NEW! The Arkansas Opportunity School Choice application period will be held June 5 - July 30, 2017, first-come, first served. Decisions will be based on seat availability. LRSD schools in academic distress are Hall High, Cloverdale Middle and Henderson Middle School. All applications must be time and date stamped at the LRSD Student Registration Office. Students who have been assigned to an academically distressed school may apply to ANY other school that is not in ACADEMIC DISTRESS, even if it outside of the LRSD boundaries. If a student chooses to apply for a school outside of the LRSD boundaries, the receiving school is responsible for rendering those decisions.
PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL FEEDER PATTERNS:
Please note: Sibling preference* will only be granted to students who are currently attending the school of interest and the student (sibling) has maintained enrollment.
*Sibling preference will not be granted during Open Enrollment periods for students who are terminating an organizational level, i.e., siblings who are at the 5th, 8th and 12th grade levels, with the exception of 5th grade students at Forest Heights STEM Academy.
