Welcome!

March 17, 2022 - LRSD launched its annual reading effort under a new name with a new logo - One Rock One Book. Through One Rock One Book, all 12,000 elementary students simultaneously read the same book. Community partners pitch in to purchase the books. Families are encouraged to read the books together at home. While at school, students enjoy participating in chapter-themed projects, science experiments and other related activities. This year’s book is "Lunch Money."
Additional dates will be shared on the website below and social media about upcoming One Rock One Book events. Parents, students and staff are encouraged to post fun photos and videos sharing their activities related to the book. Please post to social media using hashtags #LRSD1Rock1Book, #BSure2Read, #LRSDPowerofUS.

Greg Kenton has two obsessions -- making money and his long-standing competition with his annoying neighbor, Maura Shaw. So when Greg discovers that Maura is cutting into his booming Chunky Comics business with her own original illustrated minibooks, he's ready to declare war.
The problem is, Greg has to admit that Maura's books are good, and soon the longtime enemies become unlikely business partners. But their budding partnership is threatened when the principal bans the sale of their comics in school. Suddenly, the two former rivals find themselves united against an adversary tougher than they ever were to each other. Will their enterprise -- and their friendship -- prevail?
