Marking its highly-anticipated return, LRSD's Athletic Department and the Athletic Foundation are proud to announce the third annual "Charles Ripley Holiday Basketball Tournament." Set to thrill audiences, this year's tournament will take place from December 7 to 9, 2023, hosted at Little Rock Southwest High School, 9715 Mabelvale Pike.

Tip-off for the tournament is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, presenting an impressive lineup of teams from Bryant, Maumelle, Central, Hall, Little Rock Southwest, Mills, Parkview, and Pine Bluff high schools. The attached schedule provides a detailed overview of the matchups.

Fondly remembered as Coach "Rip," Charles Ripley was a respected mentor and basketball coach, dedicating nearly three decades to shaping young athletes at Parkview High School. His legacy, marked by five state titles, continues to inspire the tournament's spirit.

Building on the success of last year's event, LRSD Athletic Director John Daniels expressed excitement, saying last year’s tournament was "second to none" and has no doubt this year’s showcase will be the same.

Daniels thanked the tournament host, Little Rock Southwest Principal Quantas Floyd, and his staff for providing Gryphon Arena as the venue. He also conveyed special appreciation to Mr. Rene’ Julian and First Community Bank for generously returning as the presenting sponsor.

Ticket prices for each day are set at $10.00, with admission covering four games per day, unless guests hold a "AAA" pass. All proceeds from ticket sales will contribute to the LRSD Athletic Foundation, supporting various initiatives, including providing athletic opportunities for 6th graders not funded by the LRSD.
