ViPS "An Evening for the Stars" volunteer reception was held on April 17th at the Holiday Inn Airport. The 30th annual event was held to celebrate the hard-working volunteers, employees, and supporters of the Little Rock School District.
Dr. Morris Holmes, superintendent of schools, was presented a mock check by the ViPS Board of Directors President WJ Monagle in the amount of $17 million which represents the value of 815,069 hours of volunteer time reported during the 2011-2012 school year.
Lawrence Hamilton emceed the awards portion of the program
Lori Conley was recognized with the 2012 Jane Mendel Award, the district's highest distinction in recognition of volunteer service.

60+ Award: Brady Elementary, Fulbright Elementary, Jefferson Elementary and King Elementary schools.
70+ Award: Booker Elementary and Pulaski Heights Elementary schools.
90+ Award: Forest Park Elementary
100+ Award: Carver Elementary School
