Mentor

Mentoring is an opportunity to make a positive difference. Mentors support students with

• Attendance
• Social-emotional
• Behavior
• Academics

Our mentors are the "Chicot Influencers." They guide students and interact with parents to provide familial support. Our mentors are veterans, city employees, bankers, library staff, pastors, and retired employees. 

To be a future mentor:

• Complete the online interest form for Chicot
  • Mentor Interest Form
• Complete the VIPS application for background checks (mandatory)
  • VIPS Application

We provide mentors with training led by our school counselors. We can't wait to have you at Chicot! 

Other Opportunities

• Food Pantry Packers: Pack weekly grocery bags for students to take home
• Events Volunteers: Volunteer at school events that occur during the day, evening, and weekend
• Interpreter/Translator: Help us communicate with our Spanish-speaking families through conversation (at events, school check-in) or documents
• Clothing Closet Champion: Organize and keep our clothing closet looking nice for students in need
• Community Reader: Read books to PreK-2nd grade students
• Create your own opportunity: Share your special talents or interests with us!
