The Arkansas Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program will collaborate with the Arkansas Adult Education to provide assessment, education/training, and skill development to low-income individuals in Arkansas. Our purposes are to assist needy families so that children may be cared for in their own homes or in the homes of relatives and also to reduce the dependency of needy parents by promoting job preparation, work, and marriage.

    • Childcare will be handled by referral to Davison of Childcare and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) for Low Income Childcare. Current or former TEA participant will be evaluated as well.

    • Transportation expenses paid to a participant should not exceed $200 per month. Gas receipts for mileage should be paid according to the state formula.

    • Current or former Transitional Employment Assistance Program (TEA) participants

    • Current Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients

    • Current Medicaid recipients

    • Must qualify as low income family

Participants are required to provide documentation to certify household members, non-custodial children and income. Verification can be obtained from DHS regarding participants who are receiving TEA, SNAP, and/or Medicaid.
