    Students who wish to continue their education beyond high school to become a Registered Nurse (RN), can plan now to position themselves to participate in Baptist Health College Little Rock Accelerated Track to Nursing.  Visit BHCLR to learn more. 


    The Accelerated Track to Nursing at Baptist Health College Little Rock (BHCLR) is an option for a certified LPN with college experience who wants to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The Accelerated track is one year in length and starts each January. BHCLR graduates will receive an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. 

    College Courses to Take in High School

    To participate in BHCLR Accelerated Nursing Track, students should take these required prerequisite courses in high school:

    • College Algebra (3 hours) 
    • Composition I (3 hours) 

    Completion of the BHCLR Accelerated Nursing Track requires nine (9) general education college courses. BHCLR recommends completing courses before entering the Accelerated Track but will work with students who have not completed the remaining courses required for graduation. Students can plan now to take some or all of these courses while in high school as concurrent/dual credit or AP courses (with a score of 3 or higher on the AP exam). All college courses must be completed with a C or above.

    1. Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab (4 hours) [Students complete this course in Summer Internship I.]
    2. Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab (4 hours) [Students complete this course in Summer Internship II.]
    3. Chemistry with Lab (4 hours)
    4. College Algebra (3 hours)
    5. Composition I (3 hours)
    6. Composition II (3 hours)
    7. Sociology (3 hours)
    8. Psychology (3 hours)
    9. Microbiology with Lab (4 hours)

    Advanced Degree Completion

    For students wishing to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, BHCLR has RN to BSN completer agreements with several colleges: Arkansas Tech University, Arkansas State University-Jonesboro, Capella University, Ouachita Baptist University, University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and University of Central Arkansas.
